My Latest Book Club Feature - Wendy C Felton - The Lady With The Keys!! She Makes Getting Into College Easier!!

In spite of writing a dynamic resource for anyone with a child going to college, Wendy has got to be one of the nicest people I have ever met. If you are someone with a child in middle school or high school, this has got to be the resource for you. The book is filled with tons of resources to help students get started.

She shares tips on where to find funding for college students. She list over twenty websites that offer help for college students. She even lets students know depending upon what they want to major in what classes they should be taking. There are student checklist to make sure nothing that should be done is left out or forgotten. Wendy's got the answers or keys to questions that parents and students may want to ask. From the where's, how, & when, she knows firsthand because she became the program manager for the Clark Atlanta University Educational Talent Search in Atlanta, Georgia. This federally funded program aids middle- and high-school students, first-generation college students with academic needs and low-income students who wish to attend college.

She has compiled it all here. To see her complete bio visit her website below. Her book is well worth any penny. She even shares where parents or students can have access to a free downloadable book that will help with funding for college students. This 90 paged resource is just the thing I need for my children. That information alone is worth having a copy. Often parents seek funding to find out that the sources are just scams or information out there that is just not as helpful. Wendy not only has the experience but she shares legitimate information that can be trusted. To get a copy, visit her on Amazon here.

Brooke Williams Mamarazzi Blog Tour - Writing Tips For Aspiring Authors

This week Jeru Publications is happy to feature Brooke Williams. . During her blog tour she stops by to share writing tips for aspiring authors. If you are someone that is interested in writing or even if you're someone that is a writer her tips will help. Too see all of her books and her full bio, visit her Amazon author's page here.

Writing Tips for Aspiring Authors

I’m not sure there is such a thing as an expert writer. If so, I’m not one of them! But I have learned quite a bit over the years about being an author. Many writers that aspire to be authors ask for advice and sometimes, when someone contacts me out of the blue asking questions about something vague or even something specific, I think wow, maybe I’ve made it! If someone wants to know how I do something, that makes me feel like a real author! I still have plenty to learn, but here are a few tips for aspiring authors.

Tip#1: Write Because You Love It
The biggest and best tip I can give is to write because you love to write. No other reason than that. Life is too short to force yourself to do something you don’t really love. If you love to write, do it for you and the rest will come.

Tip#2: Don’t Stop Searching
Whether you’re looking for a publisher, an agent, or the right audience for your work, do NOT stop searching. Sometimes, finding that one exact fit can be like looking for a needle in a haystack, but I guarantee if you stop looking, you will NEVER find it. Keep digging. It’s out there! Just waiting for you to find it.

Tip#3: Read
If you love to write, chances are, you also love to read. I am one such writer. I would sit and read all day if given the opportunity. Reading is a great escape from the real world, but as an author, it’s more than that. It’s a time to study the craft. See what other authors do and study it. You’ll notice certain techniques you appreciate and maybe pinpoint things you want to avoid.

Tip#4: Fine Tune
This is my least favorite part of being an author, but I know I need it, probably more than most. Don’t bother sending your rough draft to anyone, except maybe your mom. You need to write something, let it sit, and then go back through it to fine tune. That could mean checking for spelling and grammar errors, plot holes, or simply things you could say a little bit better. Editing is a nasty beast, but if you want to find appreciative readers, edit with intensity.

There are plenty of other things I could say to aspiring authors. I love what I do and I hope you do as well. If that is the case, keep at it! One “no” is not the end of the world. One bad review doesn’t define the work as a whole. Keep clacking away and you’ll soon be calling yourself an author!

10 Ways to Rid Yourself of Writers Block

When I first started my writing business in 2007,  I must admit that I did not realize just how much I would have to deal with writers block.  In fact I didn't even know what writers block was. So what is writers block? I can best define this as those times when my mind goes blank and I just can't seem to think of anything to write about. Writers block can be best defined here in Wikipedia .

Today I want to share 10 Ways to Rid Yourself of Writers Block.

1. Always keep a pencil and pad handy because you never know when ideas will pop in your mind.

2. Take a trip to the public library. Now this is not an opportunity to copy a persons work but to get ideas.

3. Surf the web for new ideas. I can't think of anywhere that has more ideas and content other than the world wide web.

4. Think about what comes natural to you or your niche area. What's a niche area? This would be your area's of expertise. Maybe you're a great cook or you know a lot about business.

5. If you like writing children's stories, observe children or simply talk to them to tap into their world.

6. What's going on in the world today? Maybe you could start a news feed and blog about current events.

7. Give your brain a rest! Relax your mind and I am sure that when your thoughts are clear that new ideas will surface.

8. How can you solve everyday problems for people in certain areas? Maybe you know how to grow a garden. You could write a how to grow a garden book or start a gardening blog or website.

9. Do you have a blog or website? Hire ghostwriters if you become so overwhelmed that you just can't think of new content.

10. Ask people you know about possible topics or suggestions. My husband is very good about suggesting new ideas to me. Remember to take it further than just the topic. Try to get ideas for possible subtopics, the body of the content, & possible bullets.

Update on Bobbi Kristina's Condition

 Victoria Sheffield/Author/Publisher/Journalist

Back in January, the late Whitney Houstons daughter Bobby Kristina was found face down and unresponsive in her bathtub.    Since then she's been on life support with her family by her side. She received surgery to replace her breathing tube. Now the family and current news reports that she has been moved to hospice care because her health is getting worse. Its all in Gods hands is what they are saying.

A civil lawsuit has been filed on the same day last Wednesday alleging that Brown received bodily harm caused by Nick Gorden. The lawsuit filed in Fulton County in Atlanta also states that her bank account shows that more than 11,000 has been withdrawn from her account alleged by Gordon. At this point most of us can only wonder what happened to her. Did the bruises on her body result in her being found unresponsive?

The family thanks everyone for their support and prayers. We at Jeru Publications are praying for the family.

My Latest Book Club Feature is........
Author Brooke Williams

Visit Her About Page and Take a Look at Her Website Here

We Asked And Here's What Brooke Had To Say~~

1. When did you write your first book?

I wrote my first book, "Someone Always Loved You," back in 2003 or 2004. It's a family drama and I got so discouraged from the "no's" I got from agents and publishers that I gave up on writing for a full decade. Eventually, my husband put the book up as an ebook as a surprise for me and I created paperbacks later on as well. The book somehow spread and has gone to #1 in its category twice. It's still very dear to my heart and it's a good example as to why authors should never give up. I lost a decade that I could have been using to write!

2. What kind of books do you enjoy writing?

I've written a variety, but lately, I've been focusing on romantic comedy. I have two young girls and when I get a chance to write, I want an escape from every day life. Something light-hearted and even a little funny. I get kind of goofy from lack of sleep and I think that shows up when I write these stories. The poor characters and the things I put them through! I can't say I'll never write another style, but for now, romantic comedy really works for me.

3. What kind of advice could you give new authors?

Don't let negative comments or "no's" discourage you. Not everyone will love what you do and that's okay! You don't like every movie you see or every book you read, right? You have to find the audience that WILL love it. That can be tough, but if you stop looking, you'll NEVER find it/them. If you love to write, write. Do it for you first and the rest will fall into place.

4. What was the hardest thing about writing your first book?

Having to stop and go to my real day job! At the time, I was in radio and I had a full time career as the Production Director as well as on air announcer. I was so wrapped up in the plot I didn't want to stop and do actual work. I wrote the book in about a month. The characters took over and wouldn't let go!

5. What are you working on next?

I completed a sequel to my Feb release "Accept this Dandelion." The sequel is called "Dandelions on the Road." I'm not completely sure what I will do with it yet, but I may release it myself, possibly as early as November. I also completed a third book in the series called "After the Final Dandelion." That novel is in rough draft form and it'll be awhile before I revisit it. I have an idea for a fourth book in the series, if I take it that far! I have a stand alone light-hearted romance coming out early September and that one's called "Mamarazzi." So a few projects on my plate right now!

Jeru Publications Asked and this is what she had to say:

When did I write my first book? I wrote my first book in the spring of 2014, I had recently lost by dad, and found that writing was therapeutic for me.

About My Book:  My book is titled: Her cry her prayer her praise, it’s a moving tale about a young women facing some really hard times. She is raised in a very traditional and conservative Baptist home, where her Father is the Pastor. In spite of her upbringing, the obstacles of life finds her.  This is a remarkable tale about finding hope in a time of darkness, and the transcendent and transformative power of faith.

What kind of books I enjoy writing?  I’m learning that I enjoy writing Inspirational books, I feel with all of the bad news around us, Good News is needed in this day and time.

The most difficult aspect of writing is: I sometimes found it difficult to write when I have a lot going on, I tend to get writers block, with this book, making sure that it flowed well was the hardest part for me, and learning how to give my readers a clear idea of the atmosphere I was creating for my characters!

The advice I would give to inspiring writers like myself is: Be true to yourself, don’t waiver from what you believe in.  Understand that all styles of writing is very different, to find their own, and make it connect with the Audience that they develop. They can’t go wrong, and just to enjoy the ride!

A Young Man I Admire/Author Jared Sawyer Jr.

My latest book club feature is a young man I can't help but admire. When I first noticed Jared Sawyer, I could remember thinking to myself that age is nothing but a number. Jared completes his last year of high school and graduates with honors. He is a Pastor and author with two book titles on Amazon. His latest book titled "911 The Spiritual Emergency System" is a book that we all should read. Jared is definitely someone that inspires,  someone full of wisdom, and someone that has been chosen at young age to fulfill God's purpose. He's done more in his young age than some have done as adults. Take a look at his full BIO.

About the Author

Blogging Success Tips

When I first started blogging two years ago, I must admit, I did not know a thing about blogging. I bought a book, I did some research and learned a lot about blogging. Blogging success comes from knowing what a person wants to accomplish with their blog. Are you someone that wants to earn extra money? Do you want to help people and share information? Maybe you just enjoy writing or all three. What ever you wish to accomplish, I want to share with you what I think you should do to make your blog a success.

Earning Money From Your Blog

If you want to earn money, you should create your own products to sell so that you will receive full earnings. There are some like me that sell niche books. If you have a blog teaching people how to knit or croquet, you could sell items that you make. You could even create a book about knitting or croqueting. Books can be anywhere from 20 pages to 200, its your call.  You could even make videos and earn money with your videos.  Youtube is a great place to get the word out about your blog. How about creating a Youtube channel with the same title as your blog? Then share links from your video directing people to your blog. This will help with visibility.

There are may streams of income that can be made with a blog. Joining affiliate programs and selling products for others is a way to earn commissions by placing ads on your blog. When people either click on these ads or place an order, you earn money. They key here is to blog about the products you are advertising. Now keep in mind that keeping your good name means credibility. I do not promote products that I do not think are good products or products that I haven't used. To learn more about how to earn money blogging visit here.

Blogging to Boost Your Business

Many business owners are now hiring bloggers to help promote their businesses. Notice that on websites now business owners have the option to create a blog within their website. A blog is very similar to a website. A blog in content based and in this case gives readers informative updates, news, & anything pertaining to services or products that are being offered.

Blog post don't need to be really long but should not be too short. They should be engaging and something that makes people want to return to that blog. People are giving away freebies to new subscribers because a blog will not be successful without an audience. A blog is no different from a website in the since that just because its there means that people will visit.

Learn SEO!!

Blogging success is very important in terms of learning how to create content that will be noticed on the internet. What's SEO? This means search engine optimization. When people do searches on the web if a blog is properly optimized for the web, the blog or site will be one of the first viewable. Creating a blog will not mean that automatically when people do searches on the web, that the blog will be seen. There are tons of blogs and new ones surfacing daily. If you don't have visitors you won't have an audience and you will not earn any money.

Well I just can't sum up all that should be done in one blog post to create a successful blog that will earn a person money. If you are someone that is interested in creating a successful blog, please visit my Hubpages article below: (Does Your Blog Earn You Cash?) Al
